The forefathers of the Irish nation knew what they were doing when they planned the first sitting of Dáil Éireann. The tradition to hold most Local Elections and Referenda, and the occasional General Election, around the same date each year is startling proof.
Where this gets interesting is on May 24th of each year when the Sun moves into 2º 48′ Gemini and makes two more Trines – to the chart’s Moon and Sun – forming what we call a Grand Trine. The Sun moves in to “seal” up an already-harmonious relationship.
What does all this mean for us? The question depends on who you think established our independent government and what their intentions were. Was the intention to promote an ease of translating the population’s needs and intentions into their local and national governments? Maybe we can get a clue from the alternative date for Local Elections and Referenda, which is mid June (I’m possibly mistaken).
I’m unsure what the decision process is on dating these polling events or whether it’s a question of convenience, but around this time of year the Sun is in a Trine with Ireland’s Mars/Uranus conjunction and sextile with its Saturn. Around this date, generally-speaking, the Irish are more forgiving of their rebellious nature and proneness to escape (alcoholism etc) with that Trine to Uranus/Mars and more receptive to assertive authority with that sextile to Saturn in Leo. Saturn being the law-giver of the planets and Leo being (at times) the narcissist of the signs, we see our self-obsessed leadership pulling the Sun behind them. Leading us by the nose as we indulge in the sunny weather characteristic of high Summer.
For those interested in the occult and Masonic angle of Ireland’s birth – our country was fought for and established by The Irish Republican Brotherhood, a quasi Masonic order of dubious origins and intent. You’d be familiar with the 33rd Degree and their general love of double numbers, whether that’s 11, 22, 55 etc. The Sun’s placement for the 1919 Dáil is at 33 minutes, which as the name suggests is 60 divisions of a degree – a number which increments every 25 minutes for the Sun. The Trine between the Sun and Moon aren’t exact, but are separated by a 2º 22′ orb (orb is Astro nerd speak for distance). The Moon, being the measure of the degree/minute system, travels at one “minute” per actual minute. It’s a very interesting arrangement, considering all of this is either a huge coincidence or has been very methodically planned out – possibly years in advance. Especially if you look at the Moon’s 2º 55′ placement – there we have the double digits again – and if you really want to go into wacko conspiracy land we can apply gematria to this, reducing those three digits down to a single digit: 2 + 5 + 5 = 12. 1 + 2 = 3.
The implications of these strange astrological and numerical arrangements have to be seen in the full context of “Ireland’s birth chart” if we’re to derive any kind of meaning from them, which is outside of the purview of this article. So you’ll have to wait a few days for that wider look. In the meantime, however, I’m confident that I’ve demonstrated the very deliberate timing of the birth of Dáil Éireann.
